Today, we have another very special Team Mocha Rose wedding to share with you. It’s taken me about a year to write this one, since I had to take that much time to reflect and curb my wedding bias. The reason for that is that this is my own wedding! That’s right, Mocha Rose’s Office Manager, Lauren, got married in October of 2017 and now has the challenging yet fun task of blogging her own wedding! I’d like to think that I’ve earned some bragging rights here, so I think we will dive right in! I’ll be sure to share some fun insider bits along the way. A BIG thank you to everyone who helped make this happen for us, and especially to Caitlin Thomas Photography for allowing me to share these amazing images with you!
I wanted everything to be unique and personal to us, so I chose floral pocket squares for all the men, instead of boutonnieres. Shane’s included hops and pieces of a computer motherboard (he’s a craft beer fan and a computer engineer).
Some of you may remember Jan, one of our designers. She’s actually my mom! She helped put the finishing touches on my bouquet, in addition to making Shane’s pocket square, the floral purse (below) for my grandma (her mom!), and two floral cuff bracelets for Shane’s mom and grandma. (This is the only photo on this post that wasn’t taken by Caitlin Thomas Photography.)
One of the things that I think makes Mocha Rose extra special is our personal flower delivery. We send one of our talented floral designers to every wedding to hand deliver all bouquets and corsages and pin boutonnieres. Above, Olivia is presenting Jan with the floral necklace she made!
We held our ceremony at the Planetarium at Carnegie Science Center, under a copper Moon Arch. The arch was decorated with little star and geometric lights.
After the ceremony, we headed to Smallman Galley in the Strip District for a cocktail party style reception. Once we arrived we were greeted by a custom made Mocha Rose original Welcome Octopus! They’re my favorite animal, and I had joked with April about having one at my wedding. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I actually got one! He now happily lives in our break room.
Team Mocha Rose went above and beyond for us, and I was honored to be able to celebrate such a special day with my work family. They all managed to come to our reception after working hard on set ups all day!
